Capacitor Bank Controller
Overview
Automate the sequencing of your capacitor banks with the Allen-Bradley Capacitor Bank Controller. Based on off-the-shelf Allen-Bradley hardware, the Capacitor Bank Controller is a simple pre-engineered solution designed to meet the needs of your power factor correction or voltage %THD filtering applications.
The Capacitor Bank Controller consists of a MicroLogix 1500 controller, Powermonitor 3000, and your choice of either a simple DAT interface or optional PanelView Standard operator interface terminal. Pre-engineered Ladder Logic code in the MicroLogix gathers power data from up to four Powermonitor 3000s, and sequences capacitor steps to keep within specified kVAR dead-bands or voltage %THD setpoints.
