PanelConnectâ„¢

Through Panel Solution for Sensors

Rockwell Automation enhances its programmable controller termination family of products by offering through panel connection modules for sensors and other inputs — an industry first. These Allen-Bradley PanelConnectâ„¢ modules are designed to work with the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 898/889 Sensor Connection Systems as well as most leading connection systems. PanelConnect modules and convenient pre-wired cables with associated sensor connection systems allow connection of up to 16 or 32 sensors directly to a 16 or 32 point PLC input module. A 32 point combination (16 inputs/16 outputs) is also available.

Quick Assembly and Machine Commissioning

Assembly and commissioning of the panel can be done in a fraction of the time compared to traditional wiring methods. Connecting sensors with a sensor distribution box, patch cord, PanelConnect module and pre-wired cable is done in seconds with this "Plug and Play" system. Wiring system cables and patch cords are pre-tested to ensure accurate connection and eliminate the need for point-to-point checking of wiring. Pre-wired cables and patch cords reduce wire preparation and routing. Markers and adhesive label strips allow for quick marking of the PanelConnect module and pre-wired cable.

PanelConnect Fuse Option

1667-Z16F PanelConnect fuse module can provide overcurrent protection to PanelConnect inputs and outputs. These modules have sixteen (16) 5 x 20 mm fuse holders to protect each individual input or output. The 1667-Z16F module mounts in the cabinet and has cables to connect to the PanelConnect Module and the PLC I/O module.

Environmental Sealed Design

The PanelConnect module is mounted through the panel wall to create a complete IP65 NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X "through the panel" environmental seal for the entry of sensor connections.

Low Total Cost Wiring Solutions

This wiring system provides a low-cost method of connecting sensors "On the Machine" and also PLC inputs "In the Panel". Installation requires only a PanelConnect module and cable versus the many components used in traditional hardwired systems.
