1336 PLUS AC Drive (1336S)
Since its introduction in 1994, the 1336 PLUS and other products that share its platform, have served as the “flagship” lines of our drives business. With these products, Rockwell Automation has built on our foundation of strong market leadership to become one of the top drive producers in the world. The 1336 PLUS represents the largest installed base of any other single drive product line in North America.
Rockwell Automation has also been an industry leader in its commitment to long-term customer support of drive products. In fact, this demonstrated commitment is unmatched in today's global drives market. This commitment is carried out in a variety of ways, including:
- Ongoing product migration to newer, smaller, lower-cost products - such as the 1336 PLUSII, PowerFlex 70 and PowerFlex 700
- Extended product life cycles
- Parts and service support that extends well beyond new product availability, and
- "Custom Classics" production of discontinued products.
The 1336 PLUS products, including Configured and Motor Control Center versions, will be available for sale, depending on frame size, for as long as December 2003. The availability schedule outlined below provides more detail. Once these products reach the “Inactive” stage, spare parts, repair services, and field service will remain available for several more years. This long-term support will insure our commitment to your installed base.
Availability Schedule:
*Complete drives will be available in top of frame ratings (A-C) and will continue to be available for sale as part of our spare parts program. A new parts sheet for the 1336 PLUS base drive will be forthcoming with the change in September. A last-time-buy opportunity for any A-C frame will be available to customers expiring on September 30, 2003. No new regular drive shipments (except A-C top of frame drives) will be available after the designated "inactive" dates.
Technical guides designed to assist conversion of 1336 PLUS to these alternatives will be available from our drive support Internet site : (http://www.ab.com/support/abdrives/conversion/).
