22-XCOMM-DC-BASE

The 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE provides a direct network connection for PowerFlex 4-Class drives. The desired 22-COMM-* communication adapter (purchased separately) is installed inside the base and up to five PowerFlex 4-Class drives can be connected via an RS485 daisy-chain (Multi-Drive). Control / status information and parameter read / write can be performed on all of the drives. DriveExecutive and DriveExplorer can also access each drive.

Previously, a PowerFlex 40 had to be used in Multi-Drive mode to connect up to four PowerFlex 4 drives to a network. The 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE replaces the need for the PowerFlex 40, and now up to five PowerFlex 4 drives can be connected in Multi-Drive mode.

The 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE can be used with the following adapters:
· 22-COMM-E EtherNet/IP
· 22-COMM-D DeviceNet

The 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE can also be used with the 22-COMM-P PROFIBUS adapter, with some limitations that will be covered in the 22-COMM-P user manual.

The 22-XCOMM-DC-BASE requires external 24vDC power and can also utilize the same power converter (20-XCOMM-AC-PS1) used with the External DPI Communications Kit (20-XCOMM-DC-BASE). It connects to the external DSI connector on a PowerFlex 4-Class drive using an RS485 cable, such as the 22-RJ45CBL-C20 cable, or via RJ45 Terminal Block connectors, such as the AK-U0-RJ45-TB2P.
