Drives
The PowerFlex 70 flange mount drive provides a means of mounting
that allows the heatsink (rear portion) of the drive to be mounted
externally to the enclosure, while the control (front portion) is
inside the enclosure. This new drive is beneficial where it is desirable
to reduce the heat that must be dissipated through the enclosure's
surface area. In most cases, this will result in a significantly
smaller enclosure requirement, which is largely dependent upon the
drive's dimensions, rather than the drive's power loss. Depending
on the frame size, the difference in power loss that must be accounted
for (as compared to the standard package) varies from a 27% reduction
to an 89% reduction. In addition, the external side is dust tight,
water tight, and corrosion resistant, when installed as instructed
with the supplied gasket and hardware and has been tested to survive
IP66, NEMA 12 and UL Type 4X for both indoor and outdoor use. |
