DeviceLogix Smart Component Technology
DeviceLogix™ Smart Component TechnologyHigher Performance with Lower-Cost Distributed Control
|
DeviceLogix™ Smart Component Technology integrates logic-solving capability into I/O, motor starters, push buttons, and other control components, providing higher-performance and lower-cost distributed control. This ability to integrate computation power in control system components provides both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system-level end users with an increasing availability of components that are capable of performing simple control functions, such as:
- Boolean logic execution
- Signal-conditioning
- Event detection
- Alarming
|
DeviceLogix-enabled smart components are well suited for applications that require a quick and localized response to some input event without the sense-to-actuation delays imposed by network round-trip polling times. Smart components are also ideal for applications where it is critical that an interruption in the network doesn't stop some portion of the control system from functioning as it should.
Simply Configure and Go
Configuring DeviceLogix smart components for local logic is easy with RSNetWorx™ for DeviceNet™. With RSNetWorx you can set up DeviceNet components for system installation or field maintenance using easy-to-understand drop-down menus and dialog boxes. DeviceLogix-enabled products can also be easily configured using RSNetWorx's built-in DeviceLogix editor.

Distributed I/O
Smart Distributed I/O with Quick Response Time
Smart distributed I/O can increase your system's overall productivity and reliability by performing simple control functions locally without the constraints typically imposed by a centralized controller and a communications network. Input-sense to output-actuation times in the range of 2 ms can be achieved with our DeviceLogix-enabled I/O product families, yielding significant improvements in system performance.
The following I/O familes include DeviceLogix-enabled products: 1734 POINT I/O, 1791D CompactBlock I/O, 1738 ArmorPoint I/O, 1792 ArmorBlock MaXum I/O, and 1799 Embedded I/O.

800E Push Button Stations
Push Buttons Allow Local Input and Processing
Allen-Bradley 800E Push Button Stations with DeviceLogix Smart Component Technology allow for local input and processing with response times under 2 ms. Perfect for applications where response time is critical, such as motor E-Stop or jogging a slide. Yet these push buttons can still provide feedback to the master system in both diagnostic bits and hardwired connections. The multiple configuration options of 800E push button stations offer you flexibility in choosing push button styles and field wiring methods.

Motor Controllers
DeviceLogix-Enabled Motor Controllers Minimize Use of Extra Components
Motor controllers can now provide additional value-added functionality and capability without additional components or communication delays.
A Softstarter with a DeviceNet Starter Auxiliary™ (DSA) can perform a "pump anti-backspin" function, or a "star-delta sequence" motor start without extra timers and relays. A Distributed Starter™ with a DSA can now improve time-sensitive activities such as positioning or sortation activities on a conveyor.
