Enclosures for IEC StartersThe Allen-Bradley Bulletin 198E Starter Enclosures are designed for a multitude of IEC starter configurations. The Bulletin 198E Enclosures are available in metal or plastic, and are suitable for either indoor or outdoor environments. The enclosures are rated UL Type 1, 3, 4, 4X, 12, 12K (IP42 to IP66).
Plastic Enclosures for IEC Starters
Cat. Nos. 198E-A_ and 198E-C_ plastic enclosures are designed to save installation time and to expand flexibility using the many available configurations.
- Two types available:
- IP66 – General Purpose: High-grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) for indoor use
- IP66 – UL 4, 4X, 12K: Heavy-duty polycarbonate (PC) for harsh indoor or outdoor environmental conditions
- IP66 – General Purpose: High-grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) for indoor use
- Knockouts for 20 mm and 25 mm metric cable glands
- Sealable cover screws
- Non-corrosive parts
- Easy to access terminals and molded connection kits
- Reduces installation time and complexity

Modifications
The 198E Plastic Enclosures, Cat. Nos. 198E-A_ and 198E-C_, are available in two sizes.
The smaller enclosures are suited for:
- Direct-On-Line (DOL) Starters with Bulletin 193-E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relays for use with Bulletin 100-C09…C23 Contactors
The larger enclosures, though still compact, are designed for:
- DOL Starters with Bulletin 193-E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relays for use with Bulletin 100-C30…C43 Contactors
- Reversing Starters with Bulletin 193-E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relays for use with Bulletin 100-C09…C23 Contactors
- DOL or Reversing Starters with Bulletin 140M-C and 140M-D Motor Protection Circuit Breakers for use with Bulletin 100-C09…C16 Contactors
