T 50 Hz Relays: Relays as listed in the table above are suitable for use on 50 Hz at the voltages as listed in the table below.
‡ 25 Hz Relays: When ordering, use the listed Cat. No. and replace the last letter with a letter selected from the table below. The 25 Hz coils have an intermittent duty rating for relays with two timing units. The intermittent rating is based on one minute on and four minutes off.

Description Cat. No.
Surge Suppressor A surge suppressor may be added to any Bulletin 849 timer with a 120V AC or 115V DC coil. The surge suppressor limits the voltage spike produced when the coil circuit is opened to protect nearby solid state devices. The suppressor is mounted on the side of the timer with a single screw and the leads are connected to coil terminals. 849-N5

Modifications

A large variety of timers can be provided by modifying the basic styles listed above. The table below lists available modifications. The Cat. No. of a timer with modifications is the Cat. No. of the basic timer to which is added the numbers selected from the second column in the table below. Example: 849-ZOD326.

Specifications

Contact Ratings

The timing unit is provided with a contact block having one normally open and one normally closed contact. Circuits wired to a contact block must be of the same polarity. Contacts are silver of the quick make and break type. Contacts have a control circuit rating listed below.

Those relays provided with auxiliary contacts have a similar contact block mounted on the solenoid frame and operated directly by the solenoid. The auxiliary contact block used on the AC relays is the same as the contact block on the timing unit and has the same rating. On the DC relays, the auxiliary contacts are rated 5A, 115V; 1A, 230V.
