500 Ethernet Gateway Module The XM® series from Rockwell Automation is the world's first machine monitoring and protection system designed as a distributed network of modules deployed on an open standard industrial bus. The XM-500 Ethernet/IP Gateway Module provides a powerful bridge between an XM DeviceNet network and Ethernet. The Gateway provides complete DeviceNet Master functionality and support for a fully populated DeviceNet network with up to 63 devices. On the Ethernet side the XM-500 offers a standard TCP/IP interface and support for both Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP protocols. The XM-500 is designed specifically for use with the XM Series of modules. XM Series modules reside on and communicate over a standard DeviceNet network. By applying an XM-500 Ethernet/IP Gateway Module users can harvest data from the XM system and transmit it to host PC applications as well as Ethernet/IP or Modbus/TCP linked controllers. When configured as a scanner, an impressive 8 kB of input table space is available to insure that all of the data offered by the XM modules can be scanned. The module supports Explicit Messaging of DeviceNet devices from Ethernet hosts, seamless Control and Information Protocol (CIP) integration for support of other NetLinx™ products, and is fully supported by Rockwell Software's RSLinx software. The module can also provide Automatic Device Replacement (ADR) functionality to connected DeviceNet devices. Specifications
