Applications

Cut To Length

Cut-to-length operations are common in many different industries for a variety of manufacturing processes. Examples of cut-to-length applications include discrete part cutting, punching, plastic bag manufacturing, press feeds, and sheet metal cutting. A set of pinch rollers are controlled by the ULTRA 100 indexing drive with registration input and an F-Series brushless servo motor. The rollers feed the material into the machine and hold the material in position while the operation is in process. On pre-printed materials, the ULTRA 100 indexing drive positions the material relative to a registration reference mark on the material.

Solution

If your application requires an indexing drive with registration, the ULTRA indexing drives can simplify your solution, provide the performance and flexibility, and reduce costs. It simplifies the set-up by eliminating the need for the command source typically provided by motion controllers, stepper controllers and PLC servo and stepper cards. The indexing functionality allows the drive to execute up to 8 different incremental/registration position moves with selectable inputs or infinite position mover using DeviceNet or serial commands.
