Incremental Optical Encoders
The Allen-Bradley family of Incremental shaft encoders are Electro-mechanical devices that provide a digital output related to the position of a rotating shaft. They are useful feedback elements in closed loop control systems.
Incremental Encoders provide relative position of the shaft and are used with external electronics such as counters to accumulate data to determine position, speed, and direction. Incremental Encoders can be used when retention of position is not required during a loss of power.
Incremental Encoders are used for speed or relative position in velocity control, sequencing and point to point applications.
Allen-Bradley Incremental Encoders give you advantages in providing low cost, smaller physical size, high frequency and high resolution in a variety of applications.
