PowerFlex® 7000 Direct-to-Drive Technology
The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex® 7000 Medium Voltage AC drive with Direct-to-Drive technology allows you to connect utility power direct to drive without an isolation transformer, and connect a new or existing motor directly to the drive without extra motor filtering. Direct-to-Drive technology is designed to meet customer demands for increased reliability, lower total cost of ownership and reduced size and weight, while eliminating common mode voltage and remaining compliant to the world's most accepted harmonic standards.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership
- No isolation transformer or transformer protection relay required.
- No dv/dt filter, sine wave filter or motor terminator required to protect the motor from dv/dt voltage stress.
- No additional motor insulation, line cable insulation or motor cable insulation required to protect the system from common mode voltage stress.
- No additional air conditioning required to cool the isolation transformer.
- No shipping splits — the drive is shipped as one unit to simplify installation and reduce cost.
- Improved system efficiency — No transformer means no transformer losses.
System Friendly
- Direct-to-Drive technology mitigates common mode voltage, and does not generate dv/dt or reflected wave voltage stress on motors.
- Harmonic compliant to IEEE 519, EN61000-2-4 and G5/4
- Suitable for new or existing motors at any cable length up to 15 km
Reduced Size and Weight
- The PowerFlex 7000 with Direct-to-Drive technology is compact and light weight compare to drive technologies using isolation transformers.
- Isolation transformers typically represent 30 to 50% of a drive system size and 50 to 70% of the system weight.
