ControlNet to FOUNDATION Fieldbus Linking Device
Connect your FOUNDATION Fieldbus Process Automation Devices to your Manufacturing Automation System
Harness the benefits of ControlNet, an open 5-megabit control-level network from ControlNet International, to connect all of your Fieldbus networks to a common backbone. The Allen-Bradley ControlNet to Fieldbus Linking Device (1788-CN2FF) connects FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 to your ControlNet-based control system. This innovative device allows you to easily connect any FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices to your manufacturing automation devices while capitalizing on the ControlNet network's deterministic, repeatable nature. Using the Configuration Tool, you can also configure and monitor any FOUNDATION Fieldbus device.
Make the Producer / Consumer Model Work for You
Using Producer/Consumer communication, the linking device connects your Fieldbus sensors and actuators to drives, HMIs, PLCs, and discrete I/O, while taking advantage of many other ControlNet benefits. Now you can:- configure, monitor, and control all of your ControlNet and FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices from ONE location on your ControlNet network
- use fiber-optic cabling options in any environment
- enjoy media redundancy for dependable control
- provide for fault protection with processor hot backup
- connect intrinsically safe devices in hazardous process environments
