ControlLogix CN2/B & CN2R/B Module
Control system users who want to cost-effectively expand their communication capacity while improving overall performance and protecting existing system investments have a new option with ControlNet. This new module significantly increases ControlNet capacity and functionality through an increased number of I/O connections, faster peer-to-peer messaging, and improved unscheduled & scheduled communications. It can also reduce the number of modules required in the Controller chassis, providing capacity for future expansion. The module has a new front-mounted USB port to access the backplane for easier NetLinx bridging and routing. Offering both single and redundant channels, the 1756-CN2/B and 1756-CN2R/B are designed to be used in the same chassis as a ControlLogix controller.
Applications
For ControlLogix applications with ControlNet where more capacity for future expansion is needed or multiple CNBs were previously required:
- Steel, Chemical, Power, Food & Beverage, Drive applications
- For applications that require larger amounts of I/O
- To increase the amount of peer-to-peer traffic between remote controllers
- To speed up an existing ControlNet application
