EWEB Web Page Development Toolkit
This utility allows users to easily generate simple Web pages with live data via the 1756-EWEB module without the need to know HTML.
Important notes on the tool:
- The utility is meant to be used for creating simple Web pages for remote diagnostics (maintenance-focus) and production monitoring (management-focus). Therefore you will not see all the objects that you may see in a traditional HMI package. However, the utility includes many useful objects that should give users the capability to create many Web page variations.
- The tool's purpose is to monitor applications. You will find no objects that are writeable to a controller. If a user wishes to include write objects in their Web pages, the EWEB user manual (ENET-UM527) should be referenced for instructions. One easy and quick way to write to a controller is to use the dataview feature embedded in the EWEB module.
- This tool is a free utility. Much like the sample code provided with other software packages (ie: RSLogix 5000), there will be no technical support and users must accept the licensing agreement upon launching the tool prior to usage.
Before you begin using the tool, read the following:
- Make sure your 1756-EWEB firmware version is v2.2 or later.
- Make sure the FTP service is enabled on the module. To change the setting, from the module homepage, navigate to Administrative Settings > Device Configuration > Device Services.
- Disable any Popup blocking applications on your computer.
- Go to Chapter 2 of the toolkit documentation for the Quickstart procedures.
