IOLinx is a family of real-time hardware drivers for Allen-Bradley scanner cards. These scanner cards connect to ControlNet, DeviceNet, and other industrial networks. IOLinx provides soft-control applications with the ability to read and write time-critical I/O information to any device on the network. With IOLinx, you can design custom applications or use off-the-shelf applications to control, configure, and collect data from these network devices.

IOLinx API
IOLinx-compatible software applications exchange I/O data via a robust set of C function calls. Any programming language capable of interfacing with a DLL (i.e. C/C++, Visual Basic, Java etc.) is compatible with IOLinx. Soft-control applications can interface with IOLinx drivers to read and write I/O data with networked devices in real-time.
A common API across network scanners allows you to write applications that work independently of the network scanner hardware. IOLinx drivers are compatible and complementary to Rockwell Software RSLinx drivers and data servers.
IOLinx Software Development Kit
The IOLinx Software Development Kit (SDK) fully documents the IOLinx API. The SDK details the C function calls and the methods by which software applications interface with the API to read and write data to and from the scanner cards.
Using the IOLinx SDK, you can develop applications to communicate to network scanner cards for direct control of sensors, actuators, discrete and analog I/O, drives, operator interfaces and other smart I/O devices.
