Overview

PowerFlex 700S AC Drive for Optimized Drive Integration

The PowerFlex 700S AC Drive with DriveLogix™ option offers an embedded Logix processor, to provide optimized integration for demanding drive control in drive system or stand-alone applications.

This drive combines the performance and control of a PowerFlex 700S AC drive with a high-performance Logix engine to provide a highly functional, cost-effective drive and control solution. You can configure the drive for vector control with FORCE™ Technology – with or without an encoder, permanent magnet motor control, or Volt per Hertz control.  This drive also supports multiple feedback options to include a second encoder, second encoder with Safe-off, resolver, Stegmann and Heidenhain high resolution feedback, Stahltronics and Temposonics SSI linear feedback.

The embedded Logix engine provides application programmability and control of auxiliary functions in one package. The PowerFlex 700S drive with DriveLogix supports the common programming environment and multiple programming languages supported by all Logix platforms.

Communication

The PowerFlex family of drives offers dedicated internal communication options through the NetLinx open network architecture including DeviceNet, ControlNet, and EtherNet/IP networks. Universal Remote I/O, RS485 DFI, and other established networks are also supported including Profibus, Interbus-S, and Modbus RTU.

With the DriveLogix5730, you can choose one optional daughter card for ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, or Profibus networks. The PowerFlex 700S drive with DriveLogix5730 also offers an embedded EtherNet/IP option.

For additional I/O, DriveLogix5730 is compatible with Compact I/O.  This local connection supports two racks of Compact I/O up to 16 modules total.

SynchLink a Drive-to-Drive Data Link

The PowerFlex 700S drive also features SynchLink™, a high-speed, synchronous, drive-to-drive data link for transmitting synchronized drive and application data. SynchLink offers process coordination and performance beyond that of standard control networks. This fiber optic network provides simplified control of advanced applications to improved production rates.
