PowerFlex® AC Drives with Safety Inside
A New Series of Safety Solutions for Allen-Bradley® PowerFlex® AC Drives
DriveGuard® is a new series of power safety solutions for Allen-Bradley PowerFlex® AC drives. Part of Rockwell Automation’s overall machine safety architecture, DriveGuard solutions provide integral, cost-effective, certified protection for AC drive control in variable speed applications.
Safe-off, the first offering available within the DriveGuard series, prevents a drive from delivering rotational energy to motors by integrating an optional safety board with the power switching signals. This option provides a certified solution that meets EN954-1, category 3 (Safe-off and protection against restart). PowerFlex AC drives with the DriveGuard Safe-off option eliminates external hardware, reduces space requirements, installation time and overall system cost.
PowerFlex AC drives with DriveGuard® safety relay option help reduce wiring,
keeps drive and I/O powered and decreases restart time.
DriveGuard is supported on the following PowerFlex AC Drives
- The PowerFlex® 70 AC drive, which is a general purpose drive with excellent performance
- Supports multiple communication networks
- Available through 50 Hp 400/480/600 Volts and 25 Hp 200/230V in both NEMA 1 and 4X
- Also available in NEMA 1, NEMA 4X and flange enclosure types
- The PowerFlex® 700S AC drive, which is a high performance drive which offers optimized integration for the most demanding stand-alone and coordinated system applications
- Supports multiple communication networks
- Available through 200 HP at 400/480 Volts, 100 HP at 208/240 Volts, and 150 HP at 600/690 Volts
- Also available in NEMA 1, NEMA 12 flange mount
- Multiple motor control modes: Vector Control with Force Technology with or without an encoder, Permanent Magnet Motor, and V/Hz control
- A DriveLogix™ option which is an Embedded Logix Controller used for logic and complex motion programming
- Multiple feedback options: 2nd Encoder, 2nd Encoder with Safe-off, Resolver, Stegmann and Heidenhain High Resolution Feedback, Stahltronis and Temposonics SSI Linear Feedback
