Like its standard GuardShield Safe 4 counterpart, the GuardShield Safe 4 PAC safety light curtain is a self-contained, optically-synchronized, two-box safety light curtain. Available in a two segment pair with a 600mm protected height or a 3 segment pair with a 840mm protected height, these PAC light curtains can be used as an opto-electronic fence or for access guarding at the entry or exit end of a machine process.
The GuardShield Safe 4 PAC may also be connected to the new MSR 42 multi-function safety module to add functionality to the GuardShield Safe 4. Modes such as Start / Re-Start Interlock, External Device Monitoring, Start Release and Two Sensor Muting can be configured in the MSR 42 by using the optical interface to configure the functionality.
The Integrated Laser Alignment System is comprised of two active laser elements located at the top and bottom of the GuardShield Safe 4 PAC; one is at the top of the transmitter and the other at the bottom of the receiver. These visible laser beams are constantly powered but do not transmit light until a finger touches the transmitting element (a finger symbol is provided to indicate where the area should be touched to activate each transmitting element). Simply touching the element after alignment is complete will turn off the visible alignment beams.
The new Allen-Bradley® GuardMaster® GuardShield Safe 4 PAC safety light curtain is an economical, Type 4 safety light curtain with an Integrated Laser Alignment System offered as a 2 segment or 3 segment system with an operating range of 30 meters. The Integrated Laser Alignment System is used to simplify set up and installation in longer range applications or when corner mirrors are used for multiple-sided guarding. GuardShield Safe 4 PAC safety light curtains are presence sensing devices designed for use on or around hazardous machinery providing perimeter and access guarding.
