GuardShield™ Shock Mount Kits for Safety Light Curtains
Rockwell Automation offers shock and vibration isolation kits for attenuating excessive shock and vibration for both vertical and horizontal applications of the GuardShield family of safety light curtains. These kits are most effective in protecting the internal optical and electronic components of the GuardShield safety light curtains, particularly in press applications where shock levels can exceed 10g.
Vertically Mounted GuardShield Family Safety Light Curtains
The shock mount kit for vertically mounted GuardShield safety light curtains consists of 8 neoprene flex bolt sandwich isolators with 1/4-20 threaded studs and 16 lock nuts (catalog number 440L-AF6120). These isolators are assembled two per right angle mounting bracket and are designed to reduce the shock and vibration that the GuardShield can be exposed to in shock and vibration applications. The lock nuts provided should be assembled and torqued to appropriate requirments. When mounting the GuardShield light curtain in a position other than vertical or horizontal, i.e. 45° use the vertical mounting kit.Horizontally Mounted GuardShield Family Safety Light Curtains
The horizontal mounting kit consists of a pair of modified right angle brackets and 4 neoprene isolators with 1/4-20 threaded studs and 8 lock nuts suitable for a pair of GuardShield light curtains (catalog number 440L-AF6121). These isolators are assembled one per right angle mounting bracket and are designed to reduce the shock and vibration that the GuardShield is exposed to in shock and vibration applications. The lock nuts provided should be assembled and torqued to appropriate requirements.Middle Mounting Brackets
Middle mounting brackets should be used on GuardShields with protective heights of 1120mm and higher in high vibration applications. Vertical shock mount kit 440L-AF6122 and horizontal shock mount kit 440L-AF6123 contain a single middle mounting bracket and a neoprene mount for middle mounting isolation.
