Tongue Interlock

Description

The Prosafe tongue interlock combines the features of trapped keys with the tongue actuated interlocks. When the tongue (actuator) is inserted into the interlock, the gate is closed. This allows the trapped key to be rotated and removed. When the trapped key is removed, the actuator can not be removed from the interlock and therefore the gate is locked. To allow access to the gate, the trapped key must be inserted into the code barrel and rotated.

These trapped key tongue interlocks are manufactured in 316L stainless steel to provide a rugged, industrial grade method of helping prevent access through gates.

One advantage of the tongue interlocks is that there is no need to run power wires to the gate. Power is disconnected by a trapped key on a control panel and the key is then hand-carried to the gate by the operator.

The single key tongue interlock (SSL) is designed to be used to access hazardous areas where partial body exposure is required. If two keys are needed for partial body access, select the dual key tongue interlock (DSL) with both keys trapped.

The tongue interlock comes complete with a standard tongue actuator. The trapped key must be ordered separately. The actuator entry point is field adjustable to one of four locations: either the top, bottom, or one of the two side entry points.
