IDC Field-Attachable Connectors (DC Micro and Pico)

Rockwell Automation has added a new line of field-attachable connectors to its rapidly growing connection systems offering based on Insulation Displacement Connector (IDC) technology.

Connector to cable installation requires virtually no tools and is realised by simply inserting unstripped conductors into the connector body and twisting the connector ends together. The result is a durable, gas-tight electrical connection in a rugged IP67-rated housing. For optimal application flexibility, these new connectors are available in DC micro and pico styles in male and female 3- or 4-pin configurations. DC micro models are offered in straight and right angle versions. Other features include:

• Maximum of 10 installations with same diameter conductors
• IDC technology offers the same benefits as existing screw type or solder termination models, yet IDC connections are approximately 40% faster than their solder or screw termination counterparts
