Bulletin 45MLD Diffuse Laser Sensor

The 45MLD is a Class 2 diffuse laser sensor designed for the packaging, material handling and semiconductor industries. Offering a 300mm (11.8in) adjustable sensing range, the 45MLD provides background suppression by triangulation, establishing a fixed focal point and suppressing anything beyond the focal point. The rotatable lens also allows the user to adjust the laser beam spot size at the focal point down to 0.5mm (0.02in) for accurate sensing of small targets such as gap detection, chip detection and crack detection in semiconductor and packaging applications.

Target presence status is provided through a discrete NPN or PNP output. Other features include:

• Adjustable focal length from 50mm to 300mm
• Fast 200µs response time for high-speed sensing or counting
• Timer option: 40ms off delay (pulse stretcher, activated via wiring scheme)
• NPN/PNP output
