Intrinsically
Safe Transmitted Beam
These
sensors are designed to operate in hazardous environments
without the use of "explosion proof" housings by limiting
the energy sources entering the hazardous area. These sensors
offer an extended 100m (350') sensing range and can be applied
in Class I, II, or III; Division 1 (Zones 0, 1, 2) locations
when connected to an appropriate safety barrier. The sensor
is also approved as non-incendive for installation into Class
1; Division 2 hazardous locations without the need for a safety
barrier.
Unlike
many competitive sensors, the Intrinsically Safe Series 9000
does not require an expensive current trip amplifer.
Darkroom
Models
Series
9000 darkroom sensors can be used in areas where the emission
of visible light must be sharply reduced, such as in areas
where photographic films, papers and other materials are manufactured.
These On/Off sensors have been specifically designed and constructed
to reduce visible light emission to less than 0.003 millilux
measured 25mm (1 in.) from the sensor.
