Custom Classics
When products enter the Custom Classics phase of their product life cycle, it is a notification to our customers that these product are no longer a front-line offering and consideration needs to be given to plan for the transition of current processes utilizing these products to the next generation of Rockwell Automation products. The newer technology generally offers increased reliability and functionality, enhanced ease-of-use, and greater efficiency and economy.

Custom Classics is a service offering consisting of select mature Rockwell Automation products that may be available either from stock or on a made-to-order basis. Although these are available now and is well established, there may be reasons our customers need to continue them for some time in the future. Moving them into the Custom Classics product portfolio makes it possible for these customers to continue to purchase spare part inventory while their drive migration strategy is finalized and implemented.

A product move to Custom Classics is also a signal of the change from a mass-produced current line to a low-volume model. Also, hardware and software are frozen at the current revisions, with no further enhancements. Price increases on these products can be expected on a regular basis.
