Rockwell Automation shipped these products from March 1, 2004 through February 18, 2008.
- Description –
PowerFlex 700S drives may stop operating because of dielectric breakdown on the Voltage Feedback and Power
Supply Board Assembly. This breakdown, which occurs between the positive and negative bus voltages, may cause
circuit board de-lamination. Only PowerFlex 700S drives connected to 690VAC or 932VDC are affected by this
anomaly.
-Temporary Workarounds –
No temporary workaround is available.
- Correction –
- All drives manufactured after February 18, 2009 have the corrected Voltage Feedback and Power Supply Board
Assembly installed.
- Replacement Voltage Feedback Board and Power Supply Kits, catalog number SK-H1-SVFB2-E1, will be
supplied to customers at no charge. Customers can order replacement kits, at no cost, for a period of one year
from the date of this Product Notice.
- Requested Customer Action -
We request that you take the following actions:
- Check that you have product affected by this Product Notice. Refer to the Product Identification
section of this document for identification help.
- Contact your local distributor or sales office if you have affected product.
- Rockwell Automation will ship a repair kit (SK-H1-SVFB2-E1) to you free of charge.
- The replacement of this circuit board is expected to take approximately one hour.
- Contact your local technical support center if you need additional technical help. Refer to Appendix
A of this document.
If this Product Notice does not affect you because you do not have the products any longer, Rockwell Automation
asks that you forward a copy of this notice, with any identifying documentation, immediately to the person or
company that now has the product. We also ask that you contact Rockwell Automation Technical Support and
provide the location of the affected units.
