Product Notice : Replacement Power Module Kits for PowerFlex 700H and 700S Frame 9 Drives

Product Identification

Product affected by this Product Notice includes any of the following Replacement Power Modules:

  • SK-H1-QOUT-D261, SK-H1-QOUT-D300, SK-H1-QOUT-E170 and SK-H1-QOUT-E208
    • The catalog number is clearly marked on the shipping crate.
    • These Replacement Power Modules are intended for use with PowerFlex 700H and 700S Frame 9 Drives
  • Rockwell Automation shipped the affected products between May 2004 and June 2008.

- Issue Description -

With the replacement power module kits listed above, the following potential product quality concern exists:

Some of these kits may have shipped without the proper software configuration.

  • In a PowerFlex 700H drive: if a power module, which has been shipped without the proper software configuration, is installed the drive exhibits the following fault on power up: F104 PwrBrd Chksum.
  • In a PowerFlex 700S drive: if a power module, which has been shipped without the proper software configuration, is installed the drive exhibits the following faults on power up: F74 HiHp PwrEE Error fault or F39 Power EE CRC Fault.

- Temporary Workarounds -

  • On a PowerFlex 700H drive, qualified Rockwell field engineering personnel can use a proprietary software package to load the configuration after the replacement module is installed.
  • On a PowerFlex 700S drive, an engineer can load the configuration, using HyperTerminal, after the replacement module is installed. The configuration file is available from Rockwell Automation Tech Support.


- Requested Customer Action -
We request that you take the following actions:

  • Contact your Rockwell Automation sales engineer or distributor to obtain tested and verified Replacement Power Modules.
  • Replacement Power Modules currently in your inventory should be sent to Rockwell Automation via your sales channel.
