Product Advisories: NRU/RGU DC BUS Energized Pilot Light

The DC BUS energized pilot light installed in some systems might NOT turn to the on state as intended when bus voltage is above 50V DC.
Problem Description
A NRU/RGU DC BUS energized pilot light hardware change was initiated on June 20, 2003. The pilot light associated with this hardware change does not seem to exhibit the same characteristics in terms of impendence as the original 800MR-QL24R pilot light. The DC BUS energized pilot light installed after June 20, 2003 may NOT turn to the on state as intended when bus voltage is above 50V DC.
Problem Correction
The pilot lights and the corresponding legend plates in all systems with NRU/RGUs manufactured after June 20, 2003 need to be replaced with the original pilot light and the legend plate. Replacement kits including installation/replacement instructions (part number 372579) are available through the Rockwell Automation Global HUB in the USA. The kits will be available on May 23, 2005.
Details of all affected shipments are available. All affected customers will be notified with details on the affected installation.

Product Identification
Product affected by this Mandatory Product Service Advisory include:
- All NRUs & RGUs built and shipped after June 20, 2003 including March 24, 2005
All affected Customers are identified, including customer P.O., shipping date and project number. All affected customers will be notified with details of the identified installation.
Requested Customer Action
- Each notified customer should take the following actions:
- Read the Product Service Advisory and perform the required immediate action.
- Confirm they have NRUs/RGUs .in their systems which were received after June 20th, 2003. All affected customers will be notified with the Product Service Advisory information on affected systems.
- The product group has made available a replacement kit - (part number 372579) . Work with your Rockwell Automation representative and/or distributor to receive the kit and assistance in installation if required.
