- Issue Description -
The PowerFlex 400, PowerFlex 400N, and PowerFlex 400P Cooling Fans were manufactured with a lower number of windings that cause an increase of the current input to the fan. This change may lead to a premature failure of TR2 (transistor) internal to the fan and cause the drive to fault on F08 (Over Temperature). This loss of drive functionality would typically occur during the life of the drive.

-Temporary Workarounds -
None.

- Issue Correction -
The quality concern has been corrected in the following revisions of the PowerFlex 400, PowerFlex 400N, and PowerFlex 400P Frame E, 480V AC drives and fan spare-part kits:

  • All drives manufactured after November 14, 2008.
  • Fan spare-part kits with catalog number SK-U1-FAN2-E2.
