Product Advisories: PowerFlex 700S, PowerFlex 700H Frame 10 and Frame 11

The purpose of this Product Service Advisory is to inform you of a functional issue that exists with the main cooling fan circuit on Frame 10 and Frame 11 PowerFlex 700S and 700H drives. This Service Advisory explains the functional issue and the steps being taken to rectify the situation.
Problem Description
The fan inverter assembly transformer center mounting bolt gets excessively hot causing internal failure of the transformer.
Functional Issue
The result is the main drive cooling fan will become non-operational, and the drive will shut down on a fan fault or heat sink overtemperature.

Product affected by this Mandatory Product Service Advisory includes all Frame 10 and Frame 11 drives produced prior to January 24, 2005. Catalog numbers affected are:

Replace X with the appropriate catalog entry info for a given drive.
The data nameplate will reference “Manufactured in 2005 on Jan 23” or earlier date.
Problem Correction
All assemblies must be replaced with the appropriate kit. The Frame 10 kit includes a left and right inverter assembly and instructions. The Frame 11 kit includes three inverter assemblies and instructions.

Requested Customer Action
Each notified customer should take the following actions:
- Please read this Product Service Advisory and perform the required immediate action.
- Confirm that you have the affected products.
- Immediately contact your authorized Rockwell Automation Distributor or local Rockwell Automation Sales and Support office to place a warranty exchange order for the appropriate type and quantity of kits, using the PSA number as reference.
- To install, follow the instructions included in the kit.
- Please return the old parts to your authorized Rockwell Automation Distributor or local Rockwell Automation Sales and Support office.
