Product Advisories: Hold-Last State Functionality Anomaly when using 22-COMM-E EtherNet/IP to DSI Adapters

Problem Description
When a 22-COMM-E EtherNet/IP to DSI adapter is configured for setting “3” (Hold Last) in either Parameter 18 – [Comm Flt Action] or Parameter 19 – [Idle Flt Action], or both, this could result in unintended motion or incorrect speed reference for the drives connected to the adapter during the occurrence of a network fault and/or idle condition.

Problem Correction
To ensure correction of the issue, follow the directives for the flash upgrade procedure on all affected product immediately:

Once at the “Allen-Bradley Web Updates” site, select the “22-COMM-E” link located in the “PowerFlex 4-Class Peripherals (DSI)” section. This will display the entire line of PowerFlex 4-Class communication adapters. Select the “22-COMM-E” folder, and then select the “Firmware Updates” folder to expand the available flash updates for the 22-COMM-E adapter.
The following software tools can be used to perform the flash update process:
- DriveExplorer Full or Lite v4.01 or higher (Lite version is a free download from the web)
- DriveExecutive v3.01 or higher
- ControlFLASH (automatically installed when flash file is downloaded from the web)
