Problem Description

The ASIC board sheet metal cover and its associated mounting screws are energized at Negative DC Bus Potential of high voltage with power applied. The components are at Negative Bus potential with power applied to the drive.

Functional Issue

Risk of electrical shock, injury, or death exists if someone comes in contact with the assembly.

Product affected by this Mandatory Product Safety Alert includes all Frame 13 drives. Catalog numbers affected are:

  • 20DJ1K1XXXXXXXXXXXXX
  • 20DJ1K3XXXXXXXXXXXXX
  • 20DJ1K4XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Problem Correction

All assemblies manufactured between June 23, 2004 and July 1, 2005 must be retrofitted with the Special Label Mounting Kit. (Kit # SP-379810-A01)

Requested Customer Action

  • Each notified customer should take the following actions:
  • Please read this Product Safety Alert and perform the required immediate action.
  • Confirm that you have the affected products.
  • Immediately contact your authorized Rockwell Automation Distributor or local Rockwell Automation Sales and Support office to place a no charge order for the appropriate type and quantity of kits, using the PSA number as reference.
  • To install, follow the instructions included in the kit.
