The SpeedPak Non-Regenerative Custom Drive

Status Inactive: August, 1993
Discontinued: August, 1998
Obsolete: August, 2000
**Recommended Upgrade Bulletin 1395

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Three Phase - Six Pulse
  • Power Units - 2 thru 1500 HP

The specifications as listed below apply to the basic SPEEDPAK control. These specifications may vary for a given system design due to the particular D.C. motor characteristics.

Environment - The basic power unit is designed to operate under the following conditions.

  • Altitude: Up to 3300 feet above sea level
  • Ambient Temperature: 40°C (104°F) maximum
  • Line Voltage Variation: -5% to +10%
  • Line Frequency: 50 or 60 Hz.

Speed Range - 50:1
Note: The Bulletin 1371 Available Speed Range and Motor Heating - Motor design in many instances limits the available controllable speed range as well as the amount of torque that can be produced at reduced motor speeds. This is usually dependent on type of enclosure, class of insulation, and frame size. If continuous full load torque is required at slow speeds, some supplementary ventilation or a derated motor must be supplied.

All standard motor base speeds are available.

Speed Regulation - No load to full load: 2% by armature voltage feedback

Power Conversion Efficiency - 98%

STANDARD MODIFICATIONS AVAILABLE

  • Dynamic Braking
  • Reversing with Dynamic Braking
  • Jog Speed - Separately Adjustable
  • Thread Speed - Separately Adjustable
  • Auto/Manual Relay
  • 12 Channel Circuit Analyser
