The SpeedPak Regulated Speed Drives

Status Inactive: August, 1993
Discontinued: August, 1998
Obsolete: August, 2000
Recommended Upgrade Bulletin 1395

Description

The Bulletin 1375 Standard Package Drive is designed to convert either 230 volts or 460 volts, 3 phase, 60 Hz AC power to controlled DC power and thereby provide speed control to a DC motor.

The Bulletin 1375 is a limited option drive offering reliability and low maintenance frequency ? a result of thorough factory testing, conservative design and a unique regulating system. It is built to industrial control standards and exhibits smooth and consistent performance characteristics. The white interior, uncrowded layout, complete circuit identification and unique printed circuit board terminations also contribute to ease of maintenance. The continuous control of current keeps the drive in operation and guards against random nuisance shutdowns due to uncontrolled overcurrent.

Performance

Controlled Speed Range - 0 to motor base speed with the standard regulation, tolerance of 2% of motor base speed over 20:1 range.

Speed Regulation - with armature voltage feedback and with 100% load change will be 2% of motor base speed, using I R compensation (may vary depending on motor characteristics and application).
Motor speed may drift 15% of base speed as a result of changes in voltage, frequency and temperature.
Refer to OPTIONS for improved speed regulation and wider speed range.

Current (Torque) Limit - Adjustable 0-150% of rated armature current.

Overload Capacity - 150% rated full load current for 60 seconds.

Acceleration (Linear) - Adjustable to 30 seconds max.

Efficiency (Power Converter) - 97%.
The efficiency of the complete drive, including the motor, is approximately 87% depending on motor base speed and enclosure.
