ITS (Intelligent Terminal System) Software

ITS is a personal computer based software package which is designed to aid personnel with the start-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Allen-Bradley Digital Drives. ITS supports the following:

  • Bulletin 1336 Digital AC Drive (i.e. 1336 CLASSIC)
  • Bulletin 1395 Digital DC Drive (firmware 9.xx or lower)
  • Bulletin 1396 DC Drive

ITS is capable of both off-line and on-line programming. When in the off-line mode, a user can program drive setup, retrieve/save the setup to disk, or print hardcopy reports. By saving the drive setup information to disk and then later downloading this information to a drive, considerable time can be saved during startup.

In the on-line mode, it can also monitor drive functions, report fault information, and change drive setup. An upload function allows ITS to read the setup and configure information from a disk and store it on a disk, or print hardcopy reports.

Signal Converter
To use the on-line features of ITS, a specially designed signal converter unit (1300-ITSSC) is required as a hardware interface. This converter connects the RS-232 serial port on a DOS-compatible computer and provides protocol conversion and electrical isolation between the drive and the connected computer.

Machine Requirements
ITS software is compatible with most IBM compatible computers. ITS will run with the following operating systems and hardware configurations:

  • A DOS-based operating system, DOS version 2.0 or later.
  • IBM PC, XT, AT or 100% compatible CPU. ITS will also run of 80386 and 80486-based machines.
  • CGA, EGA, or VCA video adapter card.
  • Color or monochrome display.
  • One RS-232 serial communications port available for use by ITS for on-line communications.
  • A minimum of 2Mb available hard disk space.
