Q? Why can I not use a NEMA 4 HIM on outdoor applications?
A! The IP 66 (NEMA Type 12/UL Type 4X) HIM Modules are approved for Nema 4 useage indoors only. The material the HIM module face is made of is not Ultraviolet resistive. The HIM will work for a short period of time, but UV rays (sunlight) will cause the material to break down, and a failure will occur. Therefore, it is approved for useage indoors only, and any application useage outdoors will void the warranty.
