Drives Service & Support > Powerflex 700 > Simplified Troubleshooting Steps

This is the startup Tips card that comes with each drive. It is intended for technicians with little or no experience with drives, and the steps that are necessary in checking on a drive that is not functioning properly. The full card can be downloaded and saved at the bottom of this page. We will explain a little what each step means in a brief sentence.

Step 1.
Have you Checked the Manual?

Step 2.
Is there voltage at the input of the drive?

Step3.
Is there a line fuse blown?

Step 4.
Check that the motor is connected, and nameplate data is entered in the drive properly.

Step 5.
Check that the motor is wired properly.

Step 6.
Is the drive properly grounded?

Step 7.
Is the encoder feedback circuit complete? (This does not apply to all applications. If you do not have an encoder, then skip this step.)

Step 8.
Is the drive faulted?

Step 9.
Is the stop circuit open (an active stop)?

Step 10.
If things are still not working, see the Who To Contact section of this site.
