The following is the firmware flash procedure for updating Powerflex 700 with Vector Control Firmware. If you know the hardware requirements and hookup procedure, you may continue directly to the ControlFlash, DriveExecutive , or Hyperterminal software procedure.

Equipment Necessary:

• PowerFlex 700VC Series B drive
• 1203-SSS Anacanda Series B with firmware of atleast 3.004 (1203-USB may be used when released)
• 1201 SCANport Cable (Anacanda to drive)
• 1203-SFC Cable (Serial to SCANport)
• ControlFlash Kit (Download on Web Updates site)
• Computer with available serial port

Hardware hook up procedure:

1. Plug the DPI connector on the 1201 SCANport cable into the bottom of the drive.
   
   
   
   
2. Plug the other end of the 1201 SCANport cable into the 1203-SSS.
   
   
   
   
3. Plug the DPI connector on the 1203-SFC cable into the 1203-SSS.
   
   
   
   
4. Plug the Serial connector on the 1203-SFC cable into the serial connector into the computers serial port. This is also known as a 9-pin D-shell connection.
   
   
   
   
5. You can now continue on to the specific flashing procedures. Those available are:

• Flash update with ControlFlash
• Flash update with DriveExecutive
• Flash update with HyperTerminal
