About Flash Update

Many PowerFlex products use flash memory to store their firmware. Flash allows the firmware to be field-updateable without replacing chips. A flash update is performed by:

  1. Connecting your PC to a device via a compatible adapter
  2. Using software on the PC to transfer a new firmware file to the device

The flash updates distributed on this web site include a copy of ControlFLASH. You can then use ControlFLASH, DriveExplorer or HyperTerminal to perform the flash update.

Flashable Products

The following products can be flash updated using ControlFLASH or DriveExplorer:

  • PowerFlex 70
  • PowerFlex 700
  • PowerFlex 700 VC
